Our Story
Donald and Tia’s story is one of true love. Their experience goes far beyond the often told story of two who meet each other and fall in love. Looking back on their unique experience still brings tears to their eyes. Donald and Tia share a love that is a testimony of the faithfulness of a loving Father.
It all began when God spoke to Donald one day, “Tia is yours, take care of her.
” Donald held this inside his heart questioning the Lord—he barely even knew Tia! Donald did know she was the worship leader at his church. And he knew that she was still grieving over the unexpected death of her husband. How could he possibly share with her what God had spoken to him?
As time passed, Donald and Tia became friends. Over lunch one day, Donald shared with her what God had placed on his heart. Tia tried to pass it off. She didn’t understand. So Tia did what many people do when they don’t understand—She ran! Donald remained constant and stood firm on what God had spoken to him. Donald said to Tia, “You run and I will pursue you.
” He pursued her with a love that was placed in his heart by the Lord.
After a few months, Tia grew tired of running. She knew God was sending her a Boaz just as he had promised! And she was ready to surrender to the love that God had once again given her. God had completed His healing in Tia’s life and she was ready to move into that which the Lord had for her. Tia called Donald and said three words, “I need you.
”
They were united in marriage on December 8, 2007. Together they are reaching those who are broken, hurting, and bound. Together they are complete. Together they minister whole again.
